Rampasture Cares

At Rampasture Home Services, we believe in supporting the communities and families that are close to our hearts. This informational page is dedicated to the Powell family, who hold a special place in the Rampasture Home Services family. Eric, the owner of Rampasture Home Services, grew up with Daniel Powell in Florida, and the Powell family now resides in Farmington, MN. In November 2022, their world was turned upside down when their 10-year-old son, Ethan, was diagnosed with Leukemia. For the past two years, the Powell family has been fighting alongside Ethan through this challenging journey.

At Rampasture Home Services, we aim to raise awareness and support for the Powell family during this difficult time. From now until December 14th, 5% of all our revenue will be donated directly to the Powell family. By choosing our services, you are not only receiving quality home repairs but also contributing to a cause that truly matters. If you would like to provide additional support, you can donate directly via Venmo, or if you don't have Venmo, donations are also accepted through Zelle, cash, or check. Ethans Story

Ethan Powell may seem like a typical 10-year-old boy who loves video games, using his imagination, and spending time with his family, but his compassion, empathy, toughness, selflessness, and patience are far from ordinary.

Ethan is always ready to put others before himself and constantly looks for ways to solve the problems his friends face—qualities not often associated with a typical 10-year-old. As a dedicated Boy Scout and elementary school student, he has faced many of the challenges that come with growing up. But in late 2022, Ethan's journey took an unexpected and heartbreaking turn.

The weekend before Halloween in 2022, Ethan—affectionately known as "EP" by family and friends—began experiencing excruciating leg pain. The pain would come and go, subsiding for periods before returning with even greater intensity. Concerned, his parents took him to the emergency room, where doctors believed it was a soft tissue issue. They put him in a cast and gave him crutches, which provided only temporary relief. Soon, the pain spread to other areas of his body.

By mid-November, Ethan was admitted to the hospital while doctors, specialists, and oncologists searched for answers. After a series of tests, the devastating diagnosis came—Ethan had Leukemia.

Over the past two years, Ethan has had both good days, where he would play with his dog Loki and run around like a typical boy, and bad days, filled with pain and immobility. Unfortunately, the bad days are now outnumbering the good. Ethan has been hospitalized for the past month and recently underwent surgery to clear a bacterial infection.

Heartbreakingly, doctors have informed the Powell family that there are no further treatment options left. They have advised the family to focus on comforting Ethan and loving him as much as possible during this time. The strength Ethan has shown through this journey is nothing short of remarkable, and while his body may be struggling, his spirit remains as resilient as ever.
